SSG Landers swept their hearts out even after winning a major victory.

SSG won 11-7 in the match against Kiwoom Heroes of the ‘2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League’ held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on the 30th and ran for 3 consecutive wins. The batting line exploded and took the win from the beginning of the game, but there were also heartbreaking moments. 

SSG, who allowed Kiwoom to take the lead in the first inning, scored two points at the end of the first inning and immediately succeeded in reversing. SSG, who added a point in the second inning, allowed Kiwoom to chase a point in the beginning of the third inning, but at the end of the third inning, Ha Jae-hoon’s three-run homer hit and actually took the win. 메이저놀이터

SSG, who was leading 6-2, ran away to 11-2, scoring 1 point in the 4th inning and 4 more points in the 5th inning. SSG, which had virtually secured victory, replaced starting pitcher Kirk McCarty, who reached 109 pitches, with Choi Min-jun, and third baseman, Choi Jeong-do, with Kim Chan-hyung. It was judged that it was okay to give Choi Jeong a break as the score gap widened.

The problem arose when Kiwoom started a counterattack in the top of the 6th inning. Song Seong-moon (hit), Kim Soo-hwan (hit), Kim Si-ang (1 RBI, timely hit), and Joo Seong-won (1 RBI, double) hit 4 hits in a row and defeated Choi Min-joon. SSG hurriedly put Lim Jun-seop in, and Lim Jun-seop caught 2 outcounts but allowed 3 more points. SSG, who allowed Kiwoom to chase up to 7-11, eventually put Pilseungjo Noh Kyung-eun on the mound, and Noh Kyung-eun urgently put out the fire. 

Although the crisis was over, SSG, without Choi Jeong as the center hitter, could hardly score a runaway score. Rather, in the 7th inning, Kiwoom’s lead hitter Song Seong-moon reached second base with a hit and wild throw, and in the 8th inning, Kim Hye-seong (a hit) and Kim Hui-jip (a hit ball) went on base, and SSG’s crisis continued. 

If Roh Kyung-eun failed to prevent the crisis in the 6th inning and allowed a reversal, the decision to replace Choi Jeong in the 6th inning would have turned into the worst result. Fortunately for SSG, however, veteran reliever pitchers Noh Kyung-eun (1⅓ innings scoreless), Koh Hyo-jun (1 inning scoreless score), and Seo Jin-yong (1 inning scoreless score) kept the victory without conceding an additional run in the second half of the game.
